Why Norwich, Norfolk & East Anglia

The fine city of Norwich has a growing community of young vibrant Africans. According to National Statistics, the population of individuals who identified as Non-British grew by 4% and has continued to increase steadily over the last 10 years. This includes the 2.5% of individuals who identify as having African origin with an overall population increase of 8.7% which is higher than anywhere else in the UK. The University of East Anglia is a major pull for International Students boasting over 3,500 foreign students with over 45% of these having African origin.

On a wider scale, Norfolk’s population is projected to grow by 11.3% between 2020 and 2040. Between 2021 and 2023, over 2000 migrants of African origin arrived in the county with their families as skilled workers within the Health & Care sector. The Norfolk and Norwich is one of the biggest employer in the East of England and a major recruiter of African professionals. Recent data showed that 20% of medical professionals within the hospital are of African origin and this is projected to increase over the next 5 years.

These statistics demonstrate an increasingly diverse region with significant opportunities for Afro-centric business to thrive.
